Where to buy VM24 mains and pilots?
09 Apr 2014 10:06
I have pods and full stock exhaust right now. Seems I have 97.5 printed on my hex jet (main) and 15 printed on my pilot. Bike still wants to rev higher when full warm and choke is applied. I think I need a bigger pilot for sure, and want to order a couple mains just to have for when I get my 4-1.
Other than the idle the bike runs decent, but when accelerating, backing off the throttle a little bit is actually faster than more throttle. I think it is just starved for fuel. Needle is stock, one slot up from the bottom.
Anyway, I'm having a hard time finding these hex jets. Anyone have links to where i can buy VM pilots and mains?

Z1Enterprises.com has them (K&L). K&L parts are made in Japan & OEM quality.

I looked on z1, but I can only find the round style mains.

09 Apr 2014 14:59 - 09 Apr 2014 15:00I'm pretty sure the VM24 carbs use the large round main jets. On my 81 650-CSR the bleeder pipes that they screw into are hexagonal in shape, but the main jets are round. If unsure, contact Z1Ent... they're good about answering questions.Tumbleweeds wrote: I looked on z1, but I can only find the round style mains.

The hex part is the needle jet that the main screw's in to.

The hex part is the bleeder pipe. Aren't the needle jets pressed into the carburetor body? ... it's been a while since mine were apart.

Yeah it seems the different size needle jets are obsolete. I have new round mains and some pilots coming. I got 17.5 pilot set and 2 sets of mains. 105s and 107.5s
That should get me back in range of where I should be.
