29 smoothbore Carbs

Will 29 smoothbore A2 carbs fit on 78 Kawasaki Z1R ?
1977 KZ 1075 (FBG), 29 Smoothbores V&H Mega

29 smoothbores did not come on an A2, they were aftermarket carbs, are you sure they're not 28s ? ...but to your question ,yes ,29 smoothbores will go on A 78 Z1R ...Pete
1980 LTD 1000..,1976 LTD 900, have the 1000&900 now. the rest are previous= 1978 KZ 650 B.., 1980 Yamaha XT 500..,1978 Yamaha DT 400.., 1977 Yamaha yz 80..,Honda trail ct 70.., Honda QA 50...5-1/2 hp brigs & straton CAT chopper mini bike...3-1/2 hp mini bike (WHEN GAS WAS ABOUT 45 CENTS A GALLON)!!!!

I think gremlin is referring to the paticular set of vm29ss carbs. As I understand it there were at least 3 difference versions of them offered.

A2
A7
A12

It would appear the difference between them has to do with the size of needle jets and or the cutaway on the slide.

gd4now, your probably right, for some reason I thought he said, from an A2, my eyes & my mind were not in sync. :silly: !!
