VM28 where to start was created by Maravinchi
I know there is a 1000 of these threads, but I haven't really read anything specific to my situation. Ive got a new setup and Im not really sure where to start, any ideas or hints would be appreciated. Ive got an 83 kz 750 shaft but I ditched the cv keihin's and went with the smooth bore vm28 mikuni's. I'll be running k&n pods and vance & hines 4 into 1 exhaust. I live and ride in Ohio with an average elevation of abt 850ft ASL/ average riding season temp abt 78f, and it never really gets humid. I know there is no perfect answer but like I said Im just looking for a starting point.
starting pilot jet: 17.5
main jet: 102.5
Thanks,
Maravinchi

Would first confirm identity of the carbs at hand, because there's no Mikuni 28mm smoothbore.

Would suspect that the carbs at hand are either standard 28 mm slide OR 29mm smoothbore.

Good Fortune! :)

28mm is not a smoothbore. If you have 28's I would leave the pilot at 17.5 and bump up your main jet maybe 117.5

78 kz 1000
wiesco 1015
29mm smoothbores
gs1100 swingarm
gsxr rear
