Carb rebuild kits was created by Greasedmonkey
I need to rebuild the carbs on my 80 kz650. Since Im fairly new to these bikes, I dont know which ones I have and I have yet to still find a labeled kit for my year and model bike. If anyone can help, I would love you for ever!

Rebuild kits are a gamble. Full of often times inferior aftermarket jets that may or may not be correct for your application. If your bike has VM Mikuni carbs, you can get an O-ring kit from cycleorings.com. That and maybe float bowl gaskets should be all you need.

+1 ... . The CylceOrings guy has been selling the kits for a number of years.
Z1Enterprises.com has the float bowl gaskets & top gaskets.
I don't think replacing the top gaskets is critical or anything - I just soaked mine w LW silicone spray.
Z1Ent also has the starter (choke) plunger caps.
If you need new jets or you need to get larger, Z1Ent has K&L -- made in Japan & oem quality.
I would disassemble & clean the carburetors and inspect the little brass parts. I bet they are fine.
Use your eyeballs & common sense.

One other issue with "carb kits" is they don't contain all the various O-rings you will need for the job, the carb interconnection tube O-rings for example.

+1 on the cycleorings.com site. I actually got more o-rings than I needed for my application (I think his is intended for the Suzuki version of the Mikuni BS34), but it was very complete, including the o-rings for the fuel/vent tubes between carbs.
+1 also for Z1 and for K&L carb parts. If you're having trouble figuring out what you need, call them. They know an awful lot about this stuff, and they carry the best aftermarket stuff you're likely to find.

I do know I need bigger jets. I have pod filters and an aftermarket exhaust. I will look into those sites and see what I need. Thanks

A good starting point on the jets for VM24 carbs, pod filters, & 4-1 exhaust is
#17 pilot jets & ~#115-120 main jets.
