Vacuum Petcock leaking even after rebuild. was created by 82KZcafe
I have an 82 Kz 750 LTD with a vacuum petcock. It would not stop leaking into my carbs so i order a rebuild kit after realizing one of the diaphragm gaskets was torn. Now when it is placed in any position it will flow gas. There is no way to shut it off. I tore it apart again to make sure everything was back together correctly and it was. Don't know if i just need a different one. If so should i switch to a manual petcock and plug the vacuum?

What brand was the diaphragm kit? When you installed it, did you reuse the plate that kinda fits in between the diaphragm? Did you clean & inspect the mating surface where the diaphragm o-ring contacts it?
