OK>So I went and lost a coupple of the needles for the 1100A2. :( I was looking up some replacement numbers, and came accross these:16009-1285 for modern Police 1000 :) ,16009-1132 for sSpectre 1100  ,16009-1101 for 82-83 ELR 1000  . Which ones should I go with? I upgraded to an 1136 kit with the 10.5 comp,82 GPZ (NOS-OE) cams  . I'm going to install a Dyna S ignition kit as soon as it gets abouve 12* here  . Thanks.

What about getting a Dynojet kit for it? They include the needles and then it is a put together kit.

www.dynojet.com/jetkits/motorcycle/kawasaki.aspx#1100

They sell it for the KZ1000/1100 running the BS34's....

Yeah...Those are the ones I lost. I did also get the DJ kit for the 750LTD H,but after serious trials and tribulations, went back to all stock, except I went up on the mains.I can't remember what ## jet tho.I think I'm going to fing the old Mr. Gasket HEI springs I must have in my tool box to put on the advancer for the 750. I read a thread in the Electrical forum about a guy who was having trouble with his advancing too soon-old springs.Mines doing the same thing around 3250-3750.Surging and what-not.I know everything else is good,so it makes sence the old advancer springs may be worn out.But any thought on the OE needles for the 1100? Thanks.

Not really... DJ needles and DJ jets usually have their own taper to them, so you need to run them together and not mix and match with OE or another manufacturer. Why don't you just call DJ and buy the replacement needle? They sell all the components separately. As far as the advancer, I would be supposed that your springs are that worn, but I don't know about using HEI springs as their spring rate could be significantly different, but Zi am not an expert in that....

Sorry, NakedFun, but I cannot agree about either stock or DJ main jets having a taper. Both are straight through. However, DJ mains have their own numbering system, based on a different parameter..
DJ neddles, do have a different, and better, taper.

Sorry, I did not mean that the jets had a taper, I meant where they are the narrowest, the actual metering portion of the jet, may not be in the same place in relation to the taper point of the needle when compared to the stock jets. This of course will affect flow, and not in a predictable manner that DJ tuned with. Long story short, I personally only use DJ needles with DJ jets, and Mikuni needles with Mikuni jets, and so on....

You are right as DJ uses a different numbering system for their jets that you also have to be aware of. Not apples to apples.

Just for clarification.....no jet "Taper" but CV height within the jet is different. Left is DJ, right is Keihin.

These are both 92's. At this size, DJ and Keihin both interchange on jetting size. As you can see, the bottoms are different heights. The threaded portion is the same, but the big difference is the depth of the recess where the needles sit into the main jet. The DJ jet is far deeper than the Keihin. You can also see that the DJ jet has a smaller diameter hole for the needle to sit into than the Keihin has. There lies the difference that the needle/jet interface has.

Hey Cory, Is it just me, or does it look to anyone else like those jets are levitating in your first pic? LOL!

Nah, they're not levitating. He dropped them both at the same time from about a foot above the table, grabbed the camera, focused, and took the picture just before they hit the table. That boy is FAST!   ed

Unfortunately for my wife, I am fast at somethings......but dropping jets and taking pictures aren't one of them!
