5CN15 NEEDLES was created by D3
Hi all, my Z1R D3 has a stutter just off idle, when in gear and riding away from a stop only when cold, l've tried every think know to man and now believe it's caused by worn needle and needle jets.
Any ideas where l can purchase
4 x 5CN15 needles (kawa part 16009-1009 now ss to 16009-1013}-- l believe can use 5DL3 (16009-071}
4 x 258 0-1 needle jets (kawa 16017-1011}
Prefer genuine Mikuni, many Thankz.

Is the accelerator pump working on the carbs?
Do you have it set correctly? You can adjust when the pump squirts fuel down the throat of the carbs. You want to be able to open the throttle roughly 1/4 turn BEFORE the pump starts squirting.
As you ride, you will be cruising at roughly 1/4 throttle - so when you open the throttle to get going, you get a full squirt of fuel.
I usually will bench check the pump to make sure each nozzle is squirting the same amount of fuel.
BTW, we've had a few customers use the 5DL31 needles from the VM29's in VM28's - they are similar in profile to the 5CN3.

has a stutter just off idle, when in gear and riding away from a stop only when cold -- If not determined to be an accelerator pump issue, perhaps need to leave a little more choke on until engine warms up. Smooth and strong pull away isn't usually expected from a cold engine.
Would expect the air/fuel mixture in this instance to involve the enrichener circuit and/or the pilot circuit, and NOT the jet needle or needle jet or throttle slide cutaway.
Could also double-check the carb sync.
Good Fortune!
