Advice on carbs please.... was created by jarrad
Hey all i have 2 sets of carbs for my GPZ11 powered zed
Cv34's and vm28's
Both of them need a rebuild and the 34's need 4 new diaphrams!
As the 34's will be far more expensive to rebuild and i like the look of the 28's better i would prefer to use them.
I am wondering if they will be big enough?
Has anyone used this engine/combo?
Or just any opionoins?

The 28s are standard and the 34s are C.V. type? Use a richer needle and jets with the 28s and it'll run fine. I'd like the looks better too.

prolly ok to start with on the seat valve and the 115 pilot the 135 mians are going to be to fat i am afraid.i believe you will find your self closer to the 125ish range.
but i would not hesitate to fire it up with the 135 mains and see if it is not sluggish and burbles alot.
a jet change or two and a little screwdriver work and you will have them dialed in in no time.

Never Thaught about those 34mm C V's? GPZ 1100?
Are they worth anything? $$$ wise?
I think I have a set burried somewhere from the Drag racing days.
Those thin diaphrams always scared me.

As you get ready, be sure to get the right engine side carb mounts. The 34s and the 28s used different manifolds. I just did this conversion on my '82. Order the ones for the '77 A1 engine (as a reference).
