KZ1000 Carbs? was created by KzDad
Hello all, This is my first time joining a group like this but believe I may have bit off more than I wanted to chew. My son is a KZ fanatic and is very excited about rebuilding one. So of course he found one and now it is in our garage. The frame is a kz900 and has a kz1000a engine. The bike was not running when we purchased but it included the carbs that I pictured below. I am not sure I have properly identified them as of yet. It seems the diaphragm sensor area is not right. The diaphragm that i thought would go there has a needle that goes down the center and this one has a indention but not a hole. Is this diaphragm used on all models?
Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Welcome, The triangle pump (very bottom) is typically not use and should be closed off, That looks fine. The square accelerator pump has a diaphram that should be replaced if the bike ihas been sitting for some time. But it looks like it's assembled properly. What is missing is the idle screw which should be sticking out of the hole. I also recommend taking them apart and cleaning them with carb cleaner
Have fun with this build,...these bikes are fun to work on and parts are readily available.

They wont have the size on the carbs. Most here know what carbs were on what year bike.
You can make sure by measuring the motor side of the carbs with a caliper inside dimentions will tell which size they are. Hence 28mm s stated in earlier posts. May also be 26mm carbs.

I seem to be having a hard time finding the proper adjustment screw to complete this carb. Anyone have Ideas or where. To come up with one?
