carb parts was created by captscubaman
Trying to find someone who has or stocks parts for 1973-74 Kawasaki Z1 28mm carb parts. . I need the dust shield as all the manuals call it. Listed on BikeBandits site as dust plate Part # 781582. Any help would be appreciated. There is one for each carburetor.

I have a few sets of parts carbs. Let me know what part that is. I think your referring to the round "freeze" plug type things up by the linkage?

Thanks etbike3135. BTW my name is Bob. I have just started rebuilding the 28 MM's. So only have one carb apart which has the broken part I am looking for. I will take the other 3 apart to see if any of them have the same part damaged. Like to do one set at a time for reference to reassemble. In the diagram its part # 52. It is made from a fibrous material. Guess it being 40 years old is why its broken. Let me know what you think. I don't think any set of carbs will have this part in good condition, Maybe best to fabricate this part from a sheet of nylon.

Good Morning, If you look at the diagram in the thread it shows #52 as being the dust sheild. No idea why its called a shield more like a gasket. Next item I found bad is one of the throttle plates. Its numbered E2.5. I guess someone grabbed it with a pair of pliers and marked it up so now it doesn't slide. Now I know why the throttle was sticking. Looking for this part also. You mentioned you might have a set of parts carbs. Let me know maybe we can work out something Thanks Bob
