No Choke On 79 KZ 650 was created by cleosdad2001
I made the mistake of not firing up the bike this past winter for a couple of months. When I did fire it up, it won't stay at high RPMs with the choke on. It will initially idel high then immeadiately come down and sputter out. I can eventually warm up the bike without choke by working the throttle. Any ideas out there, help!

If the bike sat that long the carbs are probably clogged up. That happened to me once - never again! You probably need to thoroughly clean the carbs. Ed

Drain the carbs in winter, remove fuel line from petcock and plug, put a piece of plugged hose on the petcock, fill gas tank completely and put Stabil it too. Toss the old gas in the spring, mean while as mentioned carbs will need to be cleaned in pilot circuits. That's worked for me on my GPZ750 for 31 years
