I'm trying to set the fuel level on the KZ200. Every time I fill the carb bowl with gas, it starts dripping from the overflow. I bent the tang up on the float to lower the fuel level and it doesn't have any effect. I bend the tang and according to my clear tube test the fuel level is in spec at 5mm below the mating surface. Fuel will still drip from the overflow.

If I bend the tang further, the valve needle bottoms out when I put the bowl back on and no fuel will drop into the carb at all. Then I bend it the smallest amount down from that and it overflows. There's no adjustment. I'm thinking the valve needle and seat need replacing. From what I see the tip of the needle looks okay. I don't know what else could cause this. Any advice?

It was a straightforward and easy adjustment on my 750. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Its possible that there is a crack in the brass overflow tube in the float bowl. Ive seen other posts about it. Id pull the bowl and fill it to the correct level and hold it and see if it leaks. If so may be find a new one or solder the tube, making sure gas fumes are pretty well gone. LOL

I thought the same thing. I already tried that and there's no cracks. I'm stumped at the moment.

EDIT: I first tested it with water in the bowl and no leaks. I tried again with gas and sure enough the brass tube is leaking. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll fix that, reset the fuel level back to where it needs to be and start her up.
