Was the bike running, and running correctly Before the modifications?
Bike is in good tune, valve clearances right, good compression, ignition in good shape with good spark?
Checked the voltage to the coils? Whats the plugs like, pictures?
Did you set the Wet Fuel Height with the clear tube test?
Are the petcock screen and the inlet valve screens clean? The inlet valve screens are above the Float Valve.
Do you have an in-line fuel filter, is it restricting the flow?
Is your fuel tank cap venting properly?
Are those Pod's blocking the slide vent holes at the Airhorn/ belmouth of the carbs?
Does that jet kit include drilling the small vacuum hole in the slides?
Are the diaphragms in good shape with no holes, tears, leaks at the lids?
Have you been in touch with the Tech Support for the Jet Kit?
This is why Not to add pod's, unless you like trying to re-jet to make it run right again.
Good luck.

Ya the bike had lots of power before the mods were done. Main jets are 165 now I am going to try 170 mains to see what happens. Plugs are tan colour. Valve clearance is ok and carbs are in good shape had them cleaned and synced when the jet kit was installed. What should the voltage be at the coils 12v?

Those jet sizes from the Kit? Who's kit? Dyna-Jet? Then those 3#'s are way different than Mikuni. There are others here on KZR that have a similar set up, and may chime in and help you.
Plenty would not run the Pod's on the CV BS34 carb as it is harder to tune.
Good Luck.

Motorhead I installed the 170 main jets today and the bike is better at 3/4 and WOT but still not perfect going to try going up 1 or 2 more sizes.

That's good, hope it gets jetted good soon. There's a lot of riding yet this year. Lots of riders go through this. Getting a set up to work correctly. Small adjustments and test, another adjustment.
Part of the fun, or part of the aggravation for some.

Well you ordered a jet kit, what did you tell them?
Pictures of the carbs would help.
But they should be BS34 Cv style Mikuni on that bike stock.

The jet kit was ordered by the bike 82 LTD 1000, is there a number on the carbs to identify the model or how would I know they are BS34 cv style?

I have installed many kits in BS34's on J motor Kawasakis and never needed larger main jets than what came with the kit as long as the engine had stock cams.

Stock main jets should have been 122.5 in those carbs. 165 should be plenty. In addition to checking the air filter fitment to assure it's not blocking the vacuum lift port in the bell mouth of the carburetor,[simply remove the filters and take a ride] also check your fuel level and make certain the carbs are assembled correctly.

If the bike has GPz11 cams in it for some reason, you may run into a stumble somewhere above 5K RPM that the motor will pull through but it will stumble momentarily.

If the carbs are in fact correct, it can't hurt to check the condition of your plug wires and caps. Unscrew the caps, OHM them and trim 1/4" off the end of the wires to expose good wire and make a good connection. Be careful not to cut them too short.
