Carb ID Assistance was created by CoreyClough
A friend of mine sent me some carbs, he had on his 1982 GPz550, and knowing what carbs came on all years GPz550, I am puzzled that these matched right up to the stock intakes. I thought they were RS Carbs, but after a call to Sudco with pictures sent, I was informed because of the tops as they are, they are more than likely a factory set. I don't have any of the main jet sizes, as I haven't removed a bowl for this. The slides are flat, but I have no idea what bike came from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow. That's pretty crazy looking. I've never seen that type of carb on any Suzuki or Kaw. Did either make an inline-4, 4-stroke watercraft or snowmobile?

It looks old, otherwise I'd say it may be from a newer bike, but I thought anything from about 82-83 up would be CV's.

Thanks for the reply Lou. I don't know anything about these. Requires a pull and a push cable, but no inflomation written of the carbs would help me to identify them.

I do not know for sure but they look like a set of Mikuni RS carbs. Are there no other ID marks stamped on the carbs - on the flanges maybe?

Sudco confirmed that they are not RS Carbs, or any other special Mikuni Carbs.

The pictures on-line that I found that were closest make them to be Mikuni RS-38 Flat Sides. Using an inside caliper, measure the 'engine side' aperture and tell us what the measurement is. That might help us get closer.

I measured the inside diameter of the engine side outlet, and came up with 1.06 inches or 26.924 millimeters.

According to Mikuni, a lot of the flat side carbs were used on Harleys.

Thanks for that information Doug. Looks like TM Flatslides according to Sudco Catalog Dimensions. I will call Mikuni directly or email them Monday...
