Been searching on this site for about an hour and can't find what I'm looking for so here goes.

Bike starts cold in under two seconds (choke) and I can rev it normally, revs come down immediately. With choke off and at idle, I will rev the bike and the revs are slow to come down. Back on choke, it revs up and down perfect.

Here's what's new:

New Carb Holders
New Motion Pro Cables
New K&N pods (bike didn't come with a box)
Rebuilt carbs last fall
Air screws 1.5 out
New rings, valve seals, timed correctly

Thoughts? I know it kind of sounds like an air leak but I'm baffled because at choke it revs fine.

Your jetting may be wrong (too lean) for pods. I would check the jetting and then hope you will get jetting suggestions from someone on this site with the same engine, carbs, & pods who has gotten their bike to run ok (if there is such a person). Otherwise consider buying and installing an airbox and return the carbs to the stock jetting or be ready to do some jetting experimenting for the pods. Ed

Sounds good thanks for the insight. There's a local old bike shop and the owner suggested the jets I'm currently running.

What mains & pilot jets are you running ? Id suggest you buy a dynojet kit for your bike if you insist on keeping the pods. Personanly Id put the stock airbox back on. At the very least tell us what jets the mystery man told you to run. Pods are a nightmare for do it yourself jetting.

Stock pilots 15's and am running 120's (stock 110's) for mains. Plugs were looking good up until the motor rebuild. Valves are in spec. I don't have the box, bike never came with it. I turned the idle down a tad after the bike was sufficiently warmed and it seemed to help. Thanks for the replies.
