Hi, I've been having some trouble with my KZ750 LTD lately. It has the Keihin CV34 carbs on it. A few days ago I was riding it and it started leaking a large amount of fuel out of one of the carbs. I pulled them off and the needle wasn't stuck, so I compared it to another one of the carbs and found that the float was off. I adjusted it and the leak was fixed, I went on a few rides and everything was fine. Today I started it up and that same carb just began leaking again. I haven't had time to pull them apart and take a look at it yet, I will later today, but does anyone have any ideas why this would happen. What could cause the float height to keep getting screwed up every couple of rides? Thanks in advance.

Maybe the float needle is intermittently sticking.

My question would be, do u have a fuel filter inline, because sometime particles can wedge in between the float valve and seat, try blowing throuh the line with the floats off to clean out the fuel circuit. I personally have also had the overflow tube crack and leak fuel out of the overflows at a good rate.

Thanks for the quick responses. I've checked the float tube, and there's no cracks. I do have a fuel filter, but I'll double check the float needle. I just rebuilt the carbs, so they're brand new float needles, I've heard that if it is sticking I can shave it down a bit. Any advice on that? I just got home and am about to tear into them, so I'll let you know how it goes.

650ed had a good suggestion in this thread regarding spraying carb cleaner into the float needle orifice while the carbs were still on the bike. www.kzrider.com/forum/3-carburetor/58974...ts-or-needles#595156

Thanks, I figured out that the float needle was sticking in the seat. I ended up just sanding off a bit of the edges of the needle and haven't had any problems since.

Thanks
