kz550 float bowl gaskets

Hey everyone
I cleaned the carbs on my 81 kz550 today and noticed the float bowl gaskets are hard and becoming brittle, however they aren't broken yet. I know I should replace them soon but could an old gasket that hasn't broken yet cause any performance issues?

I re-use them on my 550 until they break and then buy the 11009-1161 Kawasaki gaskets.

I'm not sure I ever replaced the bowl gaskets on any of my bikes. I use antiseize on one side of the gaskets and they've been coming off like new ever since.
