carb jets are stuck was created by nickleo373
Hey everyone
I'm taking my carbs apart to check the sizes of the main and pilot jets. The main jets seem to be stuck to the bottom piece so I am unable to read the sizes. Does anyone know how I can free them up without damaging the o ring in between the two pieces? Thanks

Soak them with Kroil for a couple days and they should free up. Ed

I wouldn't think so. Just wipe them off with some soapy water then dry them after you get the jets out. (Don't soak the whole carb, just where the jets are threaded in.) Ed

Alright thanks Ed I'll pick up some kroil tomorrow. I wss also noticing that both the pilot and main jets were very loosely screwed into the carb. Is this something that is intentional from the factory or are they supposed to be screwed all the way down tight?

They should be pretty snug. Ed
