If you have the original carbs on the motorcycle and truly have a 1976 KZ900, there should be Mikuni VM26ss carbs on the motorcycle. However, many owners did mix-and-matches with carbs. Look at www.z1enterprises.com for a series of photos and diagrams to aid in identifying carbs.

Welcome to the site.

I would try and clean the carbs first. Real good. I have probably had 30 sets of old stuck carbs and have never put a kit in any of them. They are expensive and the only pieces I have seen useful is the float needle seats.

I understand you buying kits if you have only the one set and the carbs are trashed with the disassembly .

The carb numbers are toward the front outside on the one and four carb. Where the carb body is connected to the piece that holds all the carbs together.

Thank you for the replys. Z1 is a wealth of knowledge. They are the original vm26's according to the info there. Ive sprayed them several times over the past couple days with penetrating lube and still wont move. Ill keep after it. Thanks again.
