Getting frustrated... was created by anotherZ
Have just put Mikuni 28's on my 1000 LTD (it came with Lectron carbs). I rebuilt the carbs, new gaskets, O-rings, #15 pilots, needles, idle jets, etc. and 122.5 mains. Running pods and V&H 4-in-1. When vacuum syncing the bike today (with the carburetor caps off, obviously) it ran fine. I actually had the gauges strapped to my tank and drove like that. I was really happy how the bike ran, throughout the entire rpm range.

Then I got home, removed the vacuum gauges, plugged the vacuum openings and reinstalled the carburetor caps. Bike runs like crap now. Low range is ok, however does not get into high rpm's at all.

Here is what I am thinking:
Maybe mains are too big and bike ran well without the carburetor caps, because it drew some air threw there and leaned out the mix?

I have not done any plug chops yet, got too frustrated after everything worked so well.......

Any input highly appreciated, thanks!
