Strange Choke behaviour! KZ550

Hi,

i glued the choke flaps ,in fear of running them trough the engine, with epoxy shut. I installed Louds fast idle mod.
I can start the engine on full choke but when i lower the choke lever a bit and the fast idle cam is coming into play the engine revs very high.
Any solution for that?

I cant belive that the choke design is soo poor. Thats why i ask again. Did somebody put other carbs than TK22 on his KZ?

I wonder if a set of Mikuni VM22SS would work? Air box probably would have to be replaced with a KZ650 air box or go with pods but does anyone with a 550 think they would work?

PS: I have an incomplete set of VM22 that I could get some measurements for you if you like.

Sounds like Fast Idle Screw is set for to high an Idle. Try backing it down some.
