What are these carbs was created by jms3257
Can anyone tell me what these carbs are from? Auction description says 79 kz1000. Everything looks right however the first attached picture shows 4 white looking parts just under the throttle opening. I cannot tell if this is a small section of old clear tubing on a nipple, or some sort of adjusting screw. I sent the picture to a friend an he thought the carbs may be off a Suzuki or Honda, any one have any thoughts?

Thank You
Jim Smith

Thank you for the response, My thought is they may be pilot screws or air adjust screw, but have never seen this on a Kawasaki. I just hope that someone may know for sure.

I know some early KZ650 carbs have the fuel or pilot screws on the bottom and the air screw on the top. The pilot screw controls the fuel at idle.

Thank you again CoolerKing, If they are from a 650 I would think that they would most likley be VM-26's I don't know if they Put VM-28's on a 650. If anyone else knows please let me know.

They definately arent from a 650, I just used them as an example for the fuel screw.

I'd guess they are VM28s or 29s if they are from a 79 1000, the smaller 22s and 24s on the 650 are ribbed.

Here is some information I just received from WG over on his Forum. He says that they are VM-26's from an early 79 KZ1000, and the white tips are cover caps on the pilot screws. They are really hard to tune, (as stated in the link provided by CoolerKing) and he really doesn't like to even mess with them.
