Running pods often means it never again "runs just right".
Pods are so awesome for letting me get the carbs on and off quickly in order to keep making adjustments to compensate for the fact that I have pods.

top. thanks to all that weighed in. just wanted to let those who replied know what happened. I left the needle where it was and put in the 17.5 pilots. I have the screws open one full turn and I added a small about of packing to the baffle. The bike is running quite well and is pulling strong from a full stop. No bogging when i blip the throttle off idle and no flat spots as i get into the upper RPMs. I'm happy right now with how its running so I won't mess with the needle. I'll probably tweak it in the fall just to see the results.
