Fuel line nightmare/ how to? was created by recez
This is sort of a silly question.. but I need to ask to make sure I'm doing this right. The thing I dread most when taking off my carbs or checking my electrical connections is taking off the fuel tank. The reason being is that It's so hard for me to pull my fuel lines from the carbs, petcock, or inline filters. Just yesterday I pulled the fuel line from the petcock and the actual nipple from the petcock came out still connected to the hose. I'm not draining the carbs before doing this so I don't know if that will change anything... but gezz getting these hoses off is really the hardest thing for me... Sometimes it feels like there has to be an easier way than just pulling them until they break loose... this take a lot of force. I did see an quick connect adapter from Dime City but I couldn't use this with the inline filter on the left side...as there is not enough room for both the filter and the adapter (length wise). Any suggestions on how to make this less of a brute force job and more of a finesse job? I really hate doing it. I'm going to break something else if I don't figure out a better way.

I always take a pair of pliers and lightly twist the line so it actually unsticks from the nipple and it allows it to be pulled off easier.

A pair of long reach 45° needle nose pliers works for me.
A better grade of fuel line may last longer before hardening up.
Good Fortune!
