Would it be beneficial to put the carburetor from a 750E that has k&n filters into my 78 650D? Or would it be the same?

I'm like the worst person to chime in on this question, as I've just recently got my own bike to run and was my first time doing so. . Wouldn't it produce an overly rich running condition which the pods would help lean out but maybe not enough to compensate for the carbs design? This may be way off, But just wanted to throw in my thoughts, if someone could correct me if I'm wrong then we'll both be wiser KZ'ers. Here to learn... here to help. I would think larger engine means more fuel therefore, too much fuel not enough air for the smaller 650?

I considered the same, but looking at the design with the K&n filters I also thought that it might get a little more air

well hey, if they'll fit into the intake boots give it a shot and see what happens. It seems that the only real damage an overly rich condition will cause is fouling out the plugs. Better that way than on the lean side. See where it goes Maybe?
