non starter was created by Humenik
Hi folks, I have a 76 KZ 900ltd and I have a problem.
Started it up for the first time this year a week ago
and tho a little rough it started right up. Now a week
later it won't start. I changed the fuel lines to fresh
ones, no kinks, 1/4 inch line (hope that's right) and
now you see fuel go into the lines but it does not seem
to be flowing into the carbs. I pulled the tank and when
disconnected it flows fine. It has been a crap week, I spent
2 days trying to bleed my Intercepter's brakes only to find
a bad bleeder screw and that I put the piston's in backwards.
So I figure that this could be something just as dumb.

Thanks
Garry

If you let the bike sit for an extended period of time with gas in the float bowls I would say your carbs need to be cleaned. The gas evaporates and leaves a very nasty residue that clogs everything in the carburetors. Will it start with starting fluid, if so then you know the ignition is working. When you had it running a week ago I bet it would only run on full choke.

Yes I'm pretty sure your right, I will pull them tomorrow
and clean them. Good weather on the way. And yes it was only
on full choke when it ran. thanks Baldy110
