I need a little help regarding a set of 26mm Mikuni carbs, they are off the bike and on my work bench. I need to adjust the needle setting. My question is "how do I get to the needle"? Through the top I assume. A little detailed instruction would be appreciated. This is the end of a 2 year project and this site has been very helpful. Thanks in advance.

take tops off carbs
remove the (1) hex bolt not hex nuts that holds the 4 slides to throttle shaft.
you have to take out long throttle rod that goes though carbs. You will have to remove other items connected to rod.
When throttle rod is out....the car slides will come out and you can change position of needle.
Are these the style you have?

The procedure is outlined pretty well in the manual.I'd strongly recommend getting one. Most are available in the filebase on this site (

).
But yes, in general you get to the needle through the top of the carb. Be extra careful with the top disassembly. There are diaphragms in there that you don't want to tear.
