Installing new carb holders today on my 82 1000.....do these require sealant or do you install them dry?

Thanks, called z1enterprises tech line....he suggested slight smear of dielectric grease on sealing surface and dry on carb side....that's what I did...holy cow, what a difference no vac leaks make!

I replaced mine on dry 9 years ago and have had no leaks since, but I doubt a light film of grease will hurt anything. The bigger concern would be folks who feel compelled to load the thing up with silicone and end up with it being sucked into the cylinders.
The difference new carb holders makes really is amazing! I suspect there are many folks who have problems with their bike idling poorly that could use a new set of holders. Ed

Replace the rubber sync plugs too, as they can develope cracks & affect the idle.
