KZ200 1979 (Keihin carburetor) Help? was created by Raven72

It is my understanding that I have a 1979 KZ200. I discovered that the Choke Value is broken. I have the Keihin Carburetor with a stamped number of (26) on it. Sadly I only have part of the choke value the previous owner must have removed the other broken 1/2.
My problem is that all of my internet searches have completely failed in trying to locate someone that sells that part. I can't even locate the part number.
I have search at least a dozen sites and had no luck at all.
Thank you.

According to Kawasaki.com the following is the carb for the KZ200. Assuming this is what is on your bike, which part do you need? Ed

I saw the website you pulled that picture from. It looks like the same carb, but why they aren't showing the part is beyond me. Here is the picture I have showing the part. It is listed as Part 11 and called "Choke Valve"
I would love to get it functional, but being that I'm having so much trouble finding the part I might have to replace the whole carb.
The carb has identifying marks of
Keihin Japan
26 (in a circle)
p72a
OE19
I haven't found any other markings on it.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe only info I could find is that your carb appears to be a Keihin PW-26. They were used on the KZ200 and on some older Honda models, but I cannot find a parts diagram or anyone selling spares. I did find the eBay listing below selling the choke assembly for the PW-22, but it is quite pricey and I don't know if it will fit the PW-26. It may be worth contacting him to see if he has a diagram or any info on the PW-26 or if he knows if the PW-22 choke will fit it. The second eBay listing below shows pictures of the PW-22 so you can see if they look similar to your PW-26. Ed

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSadly it seems that parts for this carburetor is not possible. So I'm now shopping for a new carburetor. I don't know much of anything on how to selecting a replacement. I saw several postings for PZ 26. such as
Any direction on how to go about selecting a replacement carburetor would be appreciated.
how is the PW26 different from a PZ26? The ones listed (pw26) on ebay currently don't look correctly for what I'm replacing.

Hey raven,
Did you have any luck with finding a carb to fit your kz200? I am having a similar problem - just picked up a "78 kz200 ... the carb seems in pretty good shape except possibly for the float valve and the pilot jet. I can't seem to find anything to tell me if a newer carb will fit without doing a retrofit.
The other part I am having trouble finding is a starter clutch gear.
