Pilot Jet

Pilot Jet was created by Spectre1982
I extracted a stripped pilot jet from one of my carbs. When I bought a new jet, I noticed it has the cross flow holes that go horizontally and it also has a hole going through the screw slot vertically. I can see light through it. I asked before if there were supposed to be vertical holes in the pilot jet. I was informed that there is no hole there. Does anyone know positively if there is or isn't supposed to be a vertical hole in the pilot jet? It's the one that has the plastic plug covering it. If there is a hole there, three of my carbs are plugged on the pilot circuit. I'd probably have to drill it out because guitar wire wouldn't bust through it. My bike runs great but I never could get it to idle on its own. I always give it a bit of "maintenance" throttle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got completely stock Keihin carbs on the 750 N1.

Here's a picture in case it's unclear.

EDIT: It's not letting me post my pictures.

If you're using FireFox you will need to switch over to Internet Explorer to post pics. It's a pain, but FireFox has not stepped up to the plate to correct the error in their latest version. Ed

Thanks, Ed. That was the problem with the picture. I would never have figured that out.

Anyway, back to the pilot jet. I'm asking if there's supposed to be a hole through the jet where the arrow is.

(That isn't the actual jet, just a pic off the internet for reference.)

I pulled the carbs off and took out the jet. I cut the high E string off my guitar in hopes it would be the correct size. I ran it through the hole and sure enough it came out the other side. I can now see light coming through the jet. :woohoo:

Anyway, got it figured out. If anybody else is wondering if there's a hole there, your jet is clogged.
