Carb holders for 1977 KZ650 B1. was created by FlickeredOne
I want to replace the old ones and Z1 ENTERPRISES has a set of 4, but they are right side only. Can I purchase the set and flip 2? Am I following that notation correctly? Any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated. I read through some older posts to get a lay of the land, but could not get an accurate answer on my own. Thanks!

You can mount them either way but down means two of them might be a little hard to get to.

Ok thanks. I will be tearing it apart here in a few weeks to redo to air intakes so I thought while I was at it I would take care of that "problem area" while it was apart as well. So mount the outsides upside down would be a good thought process? Thanks again!

So I was able to tear into my bike to get these carb holders replaced. All of the screws came out perfect but one. It was jacked up before I started but in the end it sheared off. so I drilled it and started to use an ez-out (which shattered) any tips on drilling the ez-out out?. Cobalt reverse drill bit? Thank you in advance!

Before you go any further, you may want to soak that with Kroil for a couple days. That will help break the bond between the bolt and engine. I did that before removing my carb holders and the bolts came out very easily. Ed

I had used PBlaster for 3 days (4 applications). I have never used Kroil. Are these products similar? Where can I get Kroil? Thanks

They are similar although Kroil may be somewhat better. You can get it from the maker (see link below) or online or sometimes at gunshows. Another option is to call around to machine shops in your area and ask if they do or know anyone who does EDM (Electronic Discharge Machining). That is a technique for burning out broken fasteners without hurting anything. Below is a brief description. Ed
