Hi guys!

I think this will be usefull to a lot of KZRiders.

If you want to replace the float bowl gasket of your Keihin CV34, all you need is a set of 4'rings size:

67mm ID
2,5mm section
Material: Nitrile Acrile or Buna N

You can buy it at and industrial store for less than 10 USD the 4 of them, instead of 22 USD at Feebay. :P

See attached pictures.

They look like the rings you get with oil filters?

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Very Very interesting.
Thanks for posting.

Now I just have to find an industrial supply store which sells o rings. I have tried the genuine Kawasaki float bowl O-rings (expensive) and just like the cheap ones they swell up when I take the carb bowls off . I think it's the alcohol in the gas

You might try using VITON o´rings. But for sure the will be more expensive than genuine Kawasaki.

Another things is not to over torque the float bowls JIS bolts. This may you press to much the o´rings. Just tighten to the point the o´rings seal.

Just soak them for 30 minutes in carb cleaner. Interior looks amazing, exterior could receive a good polish though.

I live three blocks from that store going to measure the rest of the o rings for the kiehin cv34 and go get bulk a quantity of each lsst tome i buy kits on the auction site were i dont know the quality of product. Will have to buy quantities of each as they are so cheap each and the store has a 5.00 dollar minimum for walk in customers.

I've figured out the various O-ring sizes for those Keihin's:

Pilot Screw: 1.2 x 2.6
Pilot Plug: 1.5 x 2.8
Fuel Transfer Tubes: 2.0 x 5.5
Drain Screws: 1.4 x 4.0

Regarding the float bowl O-ring, I measured the groove this evening and it shows 1.5mm deep and 2.37mm wide. I think the 2.0 mm wide O-rings would be plenty fat to fill the groove but I'm not positive. I'm going to place an order and pick up a few 2.0 and 2.5's to see which I like best.
