Which carbs for kz700 was created by Revboyz
Hi all I have a kz700 I'm looking to get a set of carbs. I currently have a header and would like to install some pods. I hear the bs are hard to tune? Any suggestions? Are the rs series over kill?
Thanks
Kevin

Yes, The RS series carbs will be an overkill for a stock engine. The BS34 will work fine on your KZ700, don't let people discourage you on using pod filters with them. With a little patience and knowledge they can be tuned properly. Another option is to find a set of VM24 off a KZ650. They are pretty cheap and they will work as long as you change out the manifolds and they are easy to tune.

Not if you buy a jet kit and put a little tuning effort into it.

IIRC the kz700 came stock with Mikuni BS34 carbs. Is there something wrong with them on your bike? You do not mention why you want a different set of carbs? What are you looking for, more performance, easier tuning, etc?

Yes tuning for pods is somewhat more difficult with the CV type carbs than it is with the mechanical slide carbs, but as others have said it is not impossible.

Yeah I know the bs34 came stock with the bike. But when I bought it there where not the bs34 stock ones. I'm looking for some more performance. I'm just throwing it out there and seeing what's possibly is a better fit. I may have to do something with my header also it's from a 650 and it's rubbing on my oil cooler line
