I've been thinking about possibly setting up my ST with CR carbs instead of the stockers and had a few questions. Maybe the CR knowledgeable people will be able to help!

First, Dynoman shows that the CR29, CR31, and CR33's will all work for the KZ1000 but I'm not sure of the real world differences between them. For further info, the bike is not a hotrod, if things work out it'll just be running 1045cc's w/stock head, etc. Also, when it says for use with small spigots, what is it referring to?

Second, will these work with a vacuum petcock?

Third, they say that for bikes not running CV carbs, it's necessary to switch out the carb holders. Is there just a size difference or what is the purpose of the switch?

Just wanting to clear up some niggles by refreshing the top end a bit and adding a new set of carbs. Mostly use the bike on long trips anyway so not looking for the absolute best stoplight to stoplight performance.

Thanks, I forgot about the stuff OMR wrote up. Looks like you just have to run the vac petcock on prime, I'll check with him about the rest

Tim, check your PM....

One thing I forgot to mention as well... long trip elevation changes requires tweaking during the ride.

Any otherwise unused vacuum nipple may be used to supply vacuum to a vacuum operated petcock, by running a vacuum hose from a vacuum nipple to the petcock nipple.

If OMR disagrees with regard to CR carbs, I shall gladly defer to his hands-on expertise. :cheer:

Good Fortune! :)
