1982 kz 1000, at idle i have a random miss....seems to be same cylinder everytime. I can feel/see a poof when the miss happens inbetween the block and the back side of carb....is that an indicator of bad carb boot? Thanks in advance

Yes,spray some carb cleaner around that boot while motor is running and see if idle changes B)

Agreed. Be sure to temporarily set the idle as low as possible when doing the test. This will yield the most obvious effect if the carb holder is leaking, because it applies more vacuum to the carb holders when the carb slides are closed as much as possible. Ed
