For storage, would at least drain the carb bowls.
Good to leave vacuum operated petcock in ON or RES position (which supposedly disallows fuel flow when the engine isn't running); but better to disconnect the fuel hose and vacuum hose from the petcock, to assure no fuel enters carbs. Best to disconnect fuel hoses at the carbs, which prevents any fuel remaining in the line from draining into the carbs.
And at least fill the fuel tank completely full with fresh gasoline, and add a preservative product such as "Stabil" to slow deterioration of the gasoline. But better to drain all gasoline from the tank, and store with the tank dry. And best to protect interior of the stored dry fuel tank with application of a product such as the oil based fog spray mist as used in marine applications.
Leave the choke OFF.
Cover the bike with a breathable cover during storage.
Other things to be done for storage would include:
Using a center stand or other method to keep the tires off the floor;
Changing the oil and filter before storing;
Oil moving carb parts and moveable chassis components.
Also a good idea to remove the battery; and leave it on the bench, with trickle charger (battery tender) attached.
And flush brake systems with fresh brake fluid.
Good Fortune!
