I have set of 29 mm Mikuni carbs on my 1976 KZ900. I had stripped jet block and I think my brother or cousin put some liquid past on the main jet to see if it would hold it in the jet block. I have put a new jet block in and the started the bike and the pipe that the jet block was replaced in does not heat up like the other 3. I took the carbs apart and the little holes on the maint jet were clogged. I cleaned them out, but I think there might be more stuff in the jet itself. Would some of these little holes being clogged cause the bike to sound like it is not running on all 4 cyclinders and the pipe not to heat up like the other pipes ?

I will take the carbs back off tomorrow to check the main jet in carb #3. I might just swapped #3 and #4 main jet to see if the #4 pipe does what #3 is currently doing.

its probably not blocking the main so much but it sounds to me like the pilot or slow speed jet or passage is probably plugged.

I took the carbs back off today and clean them. I tried to bench sync them and noticed the I could not get the #3 carb to the same level as the other 3. I did some checking and found that when I replaced the jet block and throttle valve, I lost the spring in the part that bolts to the top of the throttle valve. I couldn't find it. Can these be purchased from somewhere ?

I found the part but it is not longer available. If I take #65 out the top of all 4 carbs, will that allow me to take part #44(throttle shaft out)? I broke part #80, but have a spare one.

I finally go the carbs back together. I found the issue was with the gasket when I replaced the jet block. I didnt check the position of the gasket and it was covering the little hole in the bottom of the jet block, which was blocking fuel from spraying like it should into the throttle valve opening. I was able to bench sync the carbs. I am hoping to be able to do the running sync on them soon to hopefully get this running correctly.

I tried doing a running sync, but could not get them to sync. After disconnecting the sync tool and putting the rubber boots back on the carbs where the hose connects from the sync tool, I could not get the bike to idle below 2K. If I turned the idle adjustmetn screw out, the bike would die. It would only idle at 2k, nothing below it. I took the carbs back off the did the bench sync again, but still getting the same result. Anyone have idea what could cause this issue ?

The Screw for Pilot adjustment is an Air Screw. So turning out increases the Air to the Pilot Idle slow speed circuit. How far are they turned out from lightly seated? like 1/2-3/4 turn?
