29 smoothies o-ring material/where buy?

hey folks...nice weekend here...how Y'all


If I want to buy O-rings for my smoothbores single fuel inlet "T" (i think it has little o-rings on the sides where it passes into the carb bodies)...if I want to buy these can i use auto parts/hardware store o-rings for now...

any links to buying them online


anyone ever had a drip where the single fuel "T" goes into the carbs between the two inside ones....how did you fix it

these carbs sound perfect ...idle smooth...blip like a lion a dn other than this small drip at the T i am going riding...maybe it will swell up and be gone now,from sitting so long dry....we shall see later

Get the dimension of the o-ring. The companies will have a size like -206 or something for that size. Then you just choose material, like viton etc. Like .20 cents each + shipping for small amounts, or a bag will have free shipping. There is a guy on Feebay I've bought quite a few sizes from, including the "J" cylinder head oil passage O-rings.

they are the same as fuel tee.....Z1E has them.

okay thanks folks...i turned the gas on before running out to work earlier for a second and no leaking under there....turned it on when i just came home for a sec and no leaks...couple of things to adjust elsewhere before i try and fire-n-ride...we'll see if it has swelled/seated the rings

rode up and down my little country road...let it idle for a few minutes in the driveway...seems the o-rings/seals have seated for now and all is well...

big improvement over stock 26 carbs

That happened to me with stock carbs. Bike in basement with no fuel over the winter; Spring came - I added fuel and the "T" leaked; I'm thinking "OH CRAP - where to get a new "T" & painful carb removal & dis-assembly, etc."; by next morning leak had stopped. That was 5 years ago and it has not leaked a drop since. I do believe the o-rings or something in there shrinks when dry and swells when wet. Ed

Typical OEM fuel pipe is designed with flexible ridged seals encapsulated in rubber.

Temporary leakage at the fuel pipe that results from dryness during storage may soon self-resolve and again become leak-free after re-exposure to gasoline.

Where leakage persists, one option is to tighten the seals by wrapping the raised ridges with teflon tape upon re-assembly. White teflon tape may perform okay, but yellow teflon tape is reportedly more fuel resistant.

Other fuel pipe designs include versions with o'ring seals.

Either design allows a range of motion to align its intake with the fuel hose.

mine were not all spified up...but are very nice for me to have fo sho...

brand econo pod filters for like 23 bucks...and they are super nice quality...very impressed...pics later
oh and they cam with SS clamps that tighten and fit really nice....no leaks today either...ride and pics tomorrow...going to st helens
