Hello all

Took my carbs apart to clean and put kits in. I have a K&N air filter and 4 into 1. I noticed the main jet is 112.5 Are they adequate? My real issue is when i reassembled everything the carbs wouldn't close fully. I took out the tube the main jet screws into and it is not straight, kinda off center and deformed. The three others are like this but the needle doesn't bind like this one. I think they are NLA, any ideas?? #26 on the diagram.

Not understanding why #26 parts weren't removed incident to disassembly and cleaning and installing kits (which likely entailed replacement of jet needles).

Wondering if perhaps the carbs were accidently dropped while partly dis-assembled to result in bent bleeder tubes?

Am trying a search for #26 parts.

Good Fortune! :)

They were removed. Over tightened makes sense I guess. Now I will search I guess.

USA
bleeder tube 49122-1001
needle jet 16017-1035 size A0-4
JET NEEDLE 16009-1032 5CN17

Canada
bleeder tube 49122-1008
needle jet 16017-1011 size 01
JET NEEDLE 16009-1013 5CN15

Googling 49122-1008 produces several potential vendors with the part no longer available, and inviting a call. Perhaps there's an alternative to be suggested, such as converting to USA carb version of jet needle, needle jet and bleeder tube.

I also looked at www.sudco.com without success.

Would imagine that any Mikuni manual slide carbs from Z1 (28mm), KZ900 (26mm), or '77~'79 KZ1000 (26mm~28mm), or later models, would fit.

Acquiring a good replacement set of Mikuni manual slide carbs may be a preferable option as opposed to converting the internals of the existing carbs. They are frequently listed on ebay. And could also place a wanted classified here on KZrider.

Good Fortune! :)
