What to clean carbs with?

Also what is a good setting for needle and size of mains for pods and header?

2. Disassemble carbs and soak over night in cleaner....replace lid during process. Dont do in house.
3. remove and place parts in a bucket of hot soapy water and scrub parts....
4. rinse well with clean water and use compressed air to blow out passages and dry parts.
If you want a factory look on the exterior....soda blasting is the best way to get there. I would soda blast them after step 4 and then do step 3 and 4 over.

Took it apart of course...
I must add that the vinegar method may not be suitable for cleaning old fuel varnish.
But did a great job on the carb bodies.

PineSol is supposed to be non-corrosive & it is an oil solvent. I've used a hot water solution of it on a couple of fuel valves w good results.
The Berryman's usually available now is the California compliant formula... less toxic & not as effective as the original/professional blend. I have a can of the good stuff & used it on some carbs.
