Carb Info Smoothbores was created by Z Parts
I bought a 1974 Z900 and was told it has 29 smoothbores on it. Is their a way to ID them wihtout taking them off the bike.

post a pic on here of both sides..... B)

on this first pic...see the small square down by the float bowl....that a key feature..

Agree all of the things pointed out by others are true of the vm29s, other that not all of them have the large drain plug, the very early ones have the smaller side facing drain screw.

I would add that there should be an ID stamped on the flange either below the choke lever on carb #1 or on the same location on the outside of #4. The 29s will be one of the following.

29/A2, or 29/A7, or 29/A12
