These stupid carbs.... Today on the number one carb I have a pronounced hiss, not constant but with the rpm or stroke of the motor. It was always faint but i attributed that to the pods. What could/should I check? Compression is 145 across all 4 and carb sync was done a week ago. Thanks, these vm26 on a 78 1000

Vacuum leak. Check your caps and vacuum lines for the nipples used for balancing. Might have a hole/ crack in one. Or a leaking carb holder/ manifold.

yeah that was my thought too but its coming from the throat of the carb in this case.
