got some vm 26s and was wondering if the slides on the carbs should be all the way closed in a start mode, mine are slightly raised.

that depends on how fast the idle speed is set. should have some clearance. on the cut a way side there will normally be more (filter side of the carb)

Am addicted to Z1's and kz 900's have an el camino, fly rc helicoptors and am strung out on horsepower.

After proper bench sync and running sync and idle adjustment, throttle should remained fully closed to enable the enrichener circuit to correctly function.
