I was wondering the boots on a 82-83 GS1100 have angled boots for the carbs.
If I get a newer set of carbs like on a ZX11 cold I use the boots to put the carbs at the rite angle?

82-83 GS1100 boots are female on both ends, they dont bolt to the cylinder head like a KZ does. The GS1100 head hasfixed spickets for the boot to clamp on. Unless you have a manifold to bolt to the KZ head, they wont work. Many guys use 82 and later KZ1000 or KZ1100 intakes, they bolt on the same and have a 34mm intake diameter, which you can force 36's into most of the time.
Keep in mind, carbs that come off 4 valve motors have different slide resistance and are a real bitch to get jetted right. Thats why police bike 82 and later carbs (34mms carbs CV) work pretty good as a swap. They both come from 2 valve per cylinder motors.
(I state this info on experience after spending a month trying to get GSXR carbs from an early gixxer to work on a Z, it never did get worked out properly)
Just my 2 cents. ;)

Remember, don't work on your bike so much you never ride it.
