I bought a Kawasaki OEM fuel filter and I did not see anywhere that shows in and out on the filter. Does it matter which way I mount the filter or is there a way to tell.

Looking at this as the correct way, #15 the filter, the upper hose #23 would be the outlet pressure to the fuel rail. So the lower fitting in this picture is Out.
hope this helps.

I had it backwards, sorry. Here is a picture of the filter I find on-line.
So hose #26 is the Inlet to the pump, and hose #27 is the inlet to the filter.
In the picture top is outlet.

Yep, a certain way to install it, otherwise possible fuel flow problems.

From the gas tank it should be going to the in mark(on top), going to the fuel pump, it should be the out mark(on the bottom). The bottom side has like a cap that seals the filter medium.

Brand of the filter and part #/ Picture of the two ends would help.
Go back up to my first post, I corrected my mistake.
To be sure of flow, I would run the pump, and see if it is sucking at that end, filter, or making pressure. The filter is installed with the Medium up and the clear bowl side down.

From what my Kawasaki shop manual says, if the filter is installed the wrong way, it will not purge the trapped air, causing air to get into the fuel system.
