Vacuum Tubes - Removal? was created by crazy homeless guy
I have a question…
On the advice of a fried I have left the vacuum tube off that runs from the air box to the front. This is the one with the Y split into each side of the valve cover. The carburetor also has vacuum tubes that connects to the larger vacuum tube.
From what I understand is that these items help to producer a cleaner exhaust. But they also can serve as potential problems as they are additional parts that can plug or fail.
So, for the time being I am simply going to block them off and see what happens. I have run a connector tube between the 2 valve cover reed valves. This essentially means they will vent into each other.
I am simply going to plug the carb and air box valves.
Do you think this is fine? Will I run into any potential problems in plugging/capping using this method?
Thanks,
Travis
