Float Bowls Leaking Gas was created by raulfd4
1980 KZ440. See attached diagram of carburetor.
My float bowls leak gas pretty badly when the bike is running. I bought a carb repair kit and replaced parts 17 and 23 in the diagram (gaskets and gas shut-off thingy). I also slightly bent the "tang" on part 15 (the floats) in the red circle so that the gas would shut off a little sooner.
I put everything back together and the bike started up okay, but it still leaks gas. It seems like the gas is leaking around part 24 (overflow screw?). The screw is as tight as it can get.
Any ideas?

Part 25 might be a damaged o'ring.
Just to be on the safe side, would sniff-test and examine condition of oil to determine whether it might be contaminated from gasoline intrusion into the crankcase.
