Petcock position question.
08 Aug 2012 02:12
I feel dumb asking this but nothing in my shop manual or search showed up, the stock petcock is on my 78 kz1000. Res is at the top, off is left and right side, On is at the bottom. If the handle is at the top covering Res with On visible am I in the On position? I put enough fuel from a Gerry can into it to get to the gas station and had it on reserve, but can't remember which way it was now that it's full...

handle is at the top covering Res with On visible -- That's RESERVE position.
Handle pointing down, covering the ON, is the ON position.

Thank you Patton, I was wrong then. My Honda petcock is the reverse of that and I wasnt sure on the kz, good to know the handle indicates position.
