Just trying to remove the air box on my 1979 KZ400 and I cant seem to find the page in the manual im looking through.

Does anyone have Page 43 of the 78' - 81' KZ400 workshop manual? Or know how to remove the air box on these models?

Thanks!

I have a '79 stripped frame. The airbox is still in it. I suspect the frame was welded around the darn box

Are you planning on totally removing the box, or just getting it back far enough to service the carbs? Don't know which model you are working on, but if you want it completely out, remove the rear wheel, battery box (on the B's anyway) and regulator, remove the inner fender liner and slide the thing out the back. At least, that's how mine worked. But like I said, it's a B. If all you want to do is get to the carbs, pull the battery, regulator and plastic inner fender and you'll have enough room.

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

Nebr_Rex - I've checked kz400.com and they're missing the page on the pdf file as well. :(
and filebase? not too sure if thats forum related or a file sharing site?

Killman - I dont believe its an LTD but any info I can get certainly helps! I'll shoot you my email in a PM.

faffi - Haha! I feel the same way, but i know its got to have some wiggle room. Just wondering if I'll need to remove the rear tire as well.

mwriders - Exactly, just trying to get at the air box to service the carbs and check out the airflow in the box. The bikes right cylinder is running rich so I'm trying to eliminate the factor of improper airflow before I move on.
