K & L carb kits

Has anyone used K&L brand carb kits? Last year I rebuilt the carbs on my '78 KZ 1000 using these kits with good results but now I think one or more inlet needle is leaking & the motor is filling up with fuel.Or could the diaphragm on the petcock be bad?

That's what I used to rebuild my carbs. I was happy with most of the the kit, but not the float valve and needles. I was leery of the springs on these needles. Hardly any travel in the needle plunger compared to the originals. I had a long running issue with leaking fuel into my crankcase even with a new petcock. My main problem was the new petcock. You're supposed to have fuel in them as lubricant before attempting to operate it for the first time. Tore the membrane/gasket right up. Once I fixed that issue, things were way better but was still getting fuel in there if I forget to shut off the petcock. Or who knows, maybe as I'm riding. I replaced these new K & L valve seats and needles with my originals. I cleaned my original valve seats and needles with polishing compound before I installed them. Has not leaked since. I check the oil level religiously to make sure its not an issue anymore.

I prefer to reuse the old parts when possable and just get an o-ring kit from cycleorings.com. Some real fine valve grinding compound will lap an old needle and seat in perfect
